I use a variety of things to create book covers, fabrics, padded fabrics to give a luxurious feel, patterned papers with button, ribbon and other accents. I also use recycled materials such as game boards, annuals and manuals. When I recycle a book to make a journal the insides don't go to waste I use them to make cards, envelopes, gift boxes and badges, I try to use as much of the item as I can when recycling it.
Books and journals are all hand cut, this means they can be made in an assortment of shapes and sizes for you to fill with notes writings, drawings or photos. They also come in various styles, hand bound these are hand stitched and ring bound books are bound using a binding machine.
